jackvance is an unknown quantity at this point
This is bad. You're not building a pot at all. If you don't bet the flop, then bet the turn harder.. and if he raises you, reraise it!
Sarcasm is your body's natural defense against stupidity

I don't like this line.

I lead the flop, you 3bet preflop. When he calls, check the turn (to signal you gave up) and raise his bet, lead the river.

You'll get 1.5BB preflop, 0.5BB on the flop, 2BB on the turn, 1BB on the river. This is 5BB.

Your lines give 1.5BB preflop, 0BB on the flop, 2BB on the turn and 1 BB on river. That is 4.5BB.

As played, I 3bet the turn and check call (As you did) that disgustingly ugly river.

You didn't CR the river, you check called, as you should have.

Post this is the small stakes limit forum, ask the limits PROS! I'm only a limit novice.

I'm a limit novice, too. Please don't take this as argumentation: I didn't CR the river because one of the 2 cards that counterfeits my hand came. The other 95% of these situations like this, I'm getting 5.5 bets from this line.

Never taking that as an arguement. I'm calling you an idiot if you raise that river, heh.

I think this line is better. 3bet preflop as played. Lead the flop, lead the turn, lead the river.

As played there, 3bet preflop, lead the flop, lead that turn, 3bet the turn, lead the river.

As played, you'll be 1.5BB + 0.5BB + 3BB + 1BB (minimum)

And he may fold on the river, which will let you win the pot. He may even raise your river bet, allowing you to 3bet, gaining another 2BB.

lefou, post these in the limit forums.

As a general rule, slowplaying is bad, especially at lower limits when people will peel one off on the flop with any 2. You'll find that you will get more bets in on average just by betting out.
