I played in some of the free juno invitationals at the beginning of this month, and won some money in one of the tournaments, and have played in the past few juno invitationals that have popped up. I recommended that a friend play in the tournament with me, but it says that he doesn't have a ticket to it. Was I allowed in because I placed in an early tournament, and if anybody knows, could my friend get in?

Doesn't juno INVITATIONAL imply anything to you or your friend. I was invited to play in 2 tournaments over a weekend last summer.Came 2nd in one and 27th in the other for a 89$ payout. No invites to any others since and when I was invited I hadn't made a deposit.
My opinion is that these sort of tournaments are effectively loss leaders to get people who have registered but not deposited to get more involved and then ultimately to deposit and play cash games and then generate rake and anyone with above a certain amount in their account is precluded from an invite..

So you think it's just random luck that I was invited while he wasn't?

I agree. I was invited (won $.67) when I had not deposited anything. If you win, it allows players to play in the $.10 pr $.25 tourneys. When they lose their pennies, they have got a taste for money games and make a deposit.

First time i heard of anything about the juno tournaments. I thaught they were a forum or something. I won a sat ticket to round two tonight so i'm hoping to win some money from that. I'm gonna look into these juno tournaments because i'm trying to make 20k from nothing this year.

Have you got a pokerstars account? If not register(use the FTR deposit bonus code) , play in a couple of freerolls (may not even have to do that) and after so long (a month or two) stars may credit 5$ to your account to get you started playing cash games(another loss leader) .They did this with me and my friend and give you so long to use it or its withdrawn again . Unfortunately for me my 5$ came while I was offline because my net connection was playing up so i didn't get to use it then.Friend played her 5$ and didnt get a tourney invite, I didnt use the 5$ and did get a tourney invite.

While in PokerStars, we entered a freeroll tournment, went ITM (In The Money) and received $5,00 - so, after a short while, we received tickets for Juno Invitation. I remember reading we received such ticket because we got qualified in the previous tournment.
