Okay, I started playing poker again about 2 months ago after a few stints at online poker the last 2 years. The first month back I was able to make about $150 playing mostly SnG ($10) and ring games .15/.25.

This past month as been better. I have been able to make at least $100 a week consistently playing about 6 hours a week. I still play .15/.25 tables but probably lost around $150 playing various tournaments and SnGs. I've now decided to stick with just ring games and try to keep improving my game.

My plan for the past month has been withdrawing any cash above and beyond $150 at the end of the week. This $150 buffer seems to be pretty good at the .15/.25. I got in trouble early one week and dropped down to $90 but was able to make it back up by the end of the week.

I have been playing some .25/.50 tables the past two weeks and don't seem to do as well on them. I'm not busting but I'm not getting the returns I get at the lower level. I haven't been able to figure out if its my play or the play at the table.

Here are my questions:

How much different are the .15/.25 , .25/.50 , .50/$1 , $1/$2 ring games on Pokerstars?

What's a good withdrawl plan for these levels? How much is a good buffer?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to FTR.

Read the sticky at the top of this forum on bankroll management. It should answer some of those questions.

Congrats on making money. I am still playing break even poker...still learning.
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

Thanks, questions answered. I didn't even notice that sticky, I read the others though. I guess I need a bigger bankroll to be safe.

Bigger bankroll, yes. But also, look at your game. Post some hands from the $25 NL and the $50 NL. I bet you will see that you play more timid with more money on the table.

It's common, it happened to me when I made the switch from 1/2 to 2/4 and when I realized it and got over it, I found my 2/4 game just as profitable as my 1/2 game.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
