    Default Poker Tracker

I've been away for a week or so whilst I await Poker Tracker and now it;s arrived i need some quick help.

I know you can run all manner of reports and checks and you can go as deep into the software as you see fit but can you give me some generic pointers as to what I shoudl be doing in reviewing your play? I clicked on my stats to expand them and beyond seeing how my VPIP and PFR changes as I near the button I' not sure what else I can do with this extra info.

I also ran leak finder but all I got was horizontal bars for each area and a marker telling me if I am high, low or medium but with no mention of what's considered good or bad, I've heard people doing hand reviews but again, how do I do this and what am I looking for? Or do I just post the hands here for analysis? And if so, how do I export so I can here with all the pictures of cards etc?

    Your help is appreciated.

Plenty of spots that you can use the software for. The first spot you can use it is for pots where you lost 15-50bb, as these are typically where the bleed is for a lot of players. 80bb+ pots are typically coolers, or pots where you made such a bad and obvious mistake that it's barely worth analysing imo. Definitely post any hands where you were uncertain what to do though: a good player is one that can explain your mistakes in 1-2 sentences, and you'll find plenty of those here. Rarely in poker is there a clear and certain way to play any hand, and the most important thing you can learn is the skill to critically analyse every spot for yourself and come to your own conclusions. There's no question that using software and feedback from more experienced (and winning) players will help get you there much more quickly though.

Yeah, one of the best uses for PokerTracker is being able to copy the hand and post it on this forum. I'm about to do a couple myself in the Small Stakes forum so you can take a look over them/comment and then provide some of your own.

In my opinion, this was the single biggest thing that helped me move through the micros last year. The feedback you get on this site is priceless - though I'm not sure how active the small stakes forum is.

Also D.O.A, you can use PokerTracker to study your opponents when you have a decent sample size.
