I have seen some posts saying biginners shouldn't start at Party Poker. Why is that? What is the benifit of starting at Paradise Poker or Poker Stars as has been recommended?

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
they have decent micro stakes games eg 2nl and 5nl and 10nl.

Party mostly starts at 25nl.

It depends upon the size of your bankroll.

You can start anywhere... but if your first deposit is only $50, you need to play somewhere that has stakes within your bankroll.

Pretty much what miffed said in a grammar happy style.

Plus if you want to make the most of the initial deposit bonus, you need $500.

Party has only allows you to play a certain number of hands (not all that many) at the .02/.04 and .05/.10 levels. After that, the lowest level you will have available is the .10/.25
On moving up, properly rolled:

flomo will become famous soon enough
i think the party allows you 45 days on the beginner tables then you must move up to 25NL and beyond

don't blow good bonuses
take full advantage of the free money

Start on Stars.

They don't offer signup bonuses like other sites. Go to those when you have a bigger bankroll to take advantage of said bonuses.

They offer $2NL.

Their interface is REALLY nice (skinnable) and rather resource light, comparitively speaking.

The 'average' Stars player is better than the 'average' player on other sites (not sure of microlimits though). Raise your standard of play.

Basically, Party has a large initial deposit bonus. If you put $50 rather than $500 in, your losing money you will never get again. Also with the same $50 deposit you will have $75 dollars after the bonus clears. and have only 45 days to get it to $500 to move up to $25NL tables because that's all party allows after your beginner period. If you have read the bankroll managment thread then you know that you can't play at party without $500 so just wait and deposit when it's right. Start at stars and play there at the $2NL, $5NL and $10NL when you have 20 buy-ins for each level. When you can beat $10NL consistantly at stars to take your roll from $200 (min. for $10NL) $500 (min. for $25NL) you will crush $25NL on most other sites and clear bonuses like mad. That's the easiest and best way to get to where we are all trying to go.
