A 3-bet is exactly that. It is 3X the current betting limit. So with your 1/2 example, a 3-bet pre-flop and on the flop would be $3. On the turn and river when the bets double to $2, a 3-bet would be $6.

I read that book too. It's just 'Phil-speak'. Personally, I have never heard anyone in the real world call it a 3 bet. lol. |
