I've been having real problems playing this specific type of hand.
For example:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

BB ($31.45)
UTG ($23.95)
UTG+1 ($25)
MP1 ($34.60)
MP2 ($10.35)
MP3 ($24.40)
Hero ($27.15)
Button ($13.95)
SB ($11.10)

Preflop: Hero is CO with , .
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.75, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.75, 3 folds.

Flop: ($1.85) , , (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $1, UTG+1 calls $1.

Turn: ($3.85) (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $2, UTG+1 calls $2.

River: ($7.85) (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $4.75, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $7.85

Should I simpy fold turn? Keep pot small? What to do?
Possibly, even if I hit I'm 99% probable to be drawing dead.

why fold turn ? u can check it and if he checks twice u can prolly do a valuebet on river.. only thing bad about checkng is u give free card to AK/AQ. if he called he prolly didnt have that tho. depends on player. could have AK. anyway, u dont beat much ther ewth sixes (like AQ but he dont have that, QT which is unlkely too).

I didn't mean this specific hand, but this specific type of hand, where I'm strong yet likely beaten. My pocket pair, while improved to a full house, is beaten by a single K or J, or pocket 7's and up. How do I know where I am? How should I bet?

hm... depends on position and if he is betting... if he just check/call then u dont learn whole lot about what he has... everything depends on villain, to be honest i cant even say what i do in that situation i need to know who did those check/calls....

i think half betting tht turn get u a call from ak/aq from certain opponents and make ak/aq fold with tigher ones. if u bet it full then u gettig called by just better hands.. but after he checked twice i'd say he rivered that king or simply had a big hand. i think i played it just like u did and i also fold on that river most of time. some people have tendency to do thos c/c c/c b/? bluffs there on river...maybe u saw that line...but they usualy do that with missed highcards and here u only beat AT,AQ so i dont call here either.. man i'm so tired i'm going to look at your avatar now
