This is from my last post, but I think it'll get lost in the mix.

What are those numbers? How do you calculate them and what do they signify?
Many thanks.

It is referring to pokertracker/poker office stats.
The first number is the % of hands which player voluntarily puts money in the pot (aka VP$IP). In other words everytime you put money in the pot (raise/bet/call) that isn't a blind bet.
The second number is the % of hands you raise preflop with. (PFR = Pre-Flop Raise)
Typically a tight player is below 20 for their VP$IP. A loose player is above 35.
Someone that limps everything, even AA would have a 0 as their PFR. Someone that raises any two in position would have a PFR of 15+.
I think you misquoted the 4/7 - since that is impossible to have raised more times than you voluntarily put money in the pot (since raising qualifies as putting money in the pot)
12/3 would be tight/weak
50/25 would be a maniac
There is also a stat called AF which = Aggression factor. That is the amount of times you bet/raise divided by the number of times you call/fold. So a calling station would have an AF between 0 and 0.5

Im pretty sure you mean 14/7 there. 4/7 is incredibly tight and slightly impossible.

Yup, my copy and paste cut off the 1. It was 14/7. Sorry.
OK, all is clear now. I thought it would be a far more abstruse and exotic starting hand theory based on the orbit of Jupiter.
I must admit that I have not paid enough attention to the various PT stats other than the obvious ones, but this is very interesting, and it helps me to understand my own game more.
Thanks for this.
By the way, surely my post titled, "Molybdenum Penguins Floating in a Vat of Boiling Acid" was a better title?

They're only floating, mate. Floating in a vat.

Molybdenum ones squeal when you boil them in acid. A high-pitched, uluating, mournful wail of doom.
