I have been playing online for about 3 months, and did really well to start off, built $300 into a few grand, but have been slowly pissing it away...time to start seeking advice from this site. Have a look at the following hands, and maybe there is something I need to be doing much differently...table is relatively tight, except LurkerDrop seems to frequently come over the top, don't know much about PAINTSIDE at this point yet...

How about this one...don't think I can puch him out preflop after seeing what he eventually had, but was it played properly? Table was generally passive...

First hand, I don't think I'd even call the original flop bet for $16, not with 3 people in that pot. I just fold it there. And when that guy reraises behind you, its an easy fold.

Second hand, you MUST bet those kings aggressively on the flop. Don't slowplay them.

Third hand, I think its an OK play, you want the two pair to call you when you have a set. Most of the time the guy won't fill up. You played your set aggressively got your money in when you were ahead and the guy out drew you, it happens..

First one, I think is a good fold. Not even sure I would call the flop bet to be honest with a couple of your outs tainted by the flush draw.

Second one, why did you check on the flop? I think this is where you lost it. With two hearts and JQ on the board, I would fire out and be happy to take it down here.

Third one is just brutal. That's a bad beat to me.

You could have reraised preflop, to attempt to get more info, and then definitely make a continuation bet on the flop, If he hit a set he'll reraise or smooth call, and when you see that A on the turn, you check and re-evalute your position.

hand one, don't piss away that 16 bucks on the flop, what came on the turn is irrelevant.

hand two, WTF? BET! I'm reraising preflop most of the time, and betting that flop hard every time.

Hand 1 - Just fold the flop 3way. Somebody got a piece and that price is too expensive.

Hand 2 - Reraise PF hard. Then bet at least 2/3pot on the flop. He drops to one of those bets and you take the hand. You can't assume he has QQ or JJ. A healthy bet will tell you.

Hand 3 - bad beat. Good AI if you thought you'd be called.

In general I'm not crazy about reraising an UTG raiser with AK. I'll do it sometimes but in position I often like to just see a flop.

If you're slowly pissing your money away, it may be time to either a) take a break or b) move down in stakes until you discover where the leaks are. Spend more time studying, reading, and posting here. Bonus whore somewhere if you're going to play to give you a cushion.

Hand 1: Fold to bet on flop.

Hand 2: Re-raise pre-flop. Checking the flop was a big mistake.

Hand 3: If you had a larger stack you could have protected your hand better. Even if you get action you'll end up making more money.
