I placed in PP's new player tourney with 1 dollar buy in! It was fine up until 50 people... Then PP started making us wait on EVERY HAND. Then it was slow up to 40, then I got knocked out at 31 and i got 2.45 or something.... Of course that leaves me with exactly 4.78. Not enough to get onto a table

Umm yeah. Most tournies will go to "hand for hand" {thanks dudes.} mode when the tournament gets close to the money. Basically, each hand is played out on each table and the next hand is not started until all tables have finished the previous hand.
Take your $4.78 and go sit at a $25NL table and push all-in when u get KK or AA.
EDIT: For some reason, I wanted to type "hand to hand" but it just didn't seem right. I knew some wiseass FTR'er would come along and remind me It was early too.

its called Hand for Hand , And usually it happens close to a bubble to the next payout level, or when you get down to two tables. It all depends on the site.

They go hand for hand to prevent "stalling".
Say there are 6 tables running and you have a short stack. You are 3 places out of the money and in late position.
If you were to "stall" your next 6 hands until your in the BB again, you might beable to squeak into the money. Stalling so that your table only plays 6 hands while the other tables play 8-10 hands, hoping that 3 people bust out before you.
Very crappy way to try and win.

I would go take my 4 something and sit at a NL table, but the minimum sitdown is 5 dollars! lol... Now I understand the hand for hand thing... thanks!

Speaking of PP's $1 new player tournys...
I'm playing in one right now, and I was at the same table as this guy:

Davin Anderson, the Korean dude with the NYG hat on.
Let's just say he played a lot better at the WSOP.

He said so, and the city that was listed in his Poker Now handle was the same as the city listed next to his name in the results of the Main Event. He could be lying, but he would be going out of his way to do so, and it would be kind of absurd if he did.
