I figured with the preflop raise he might have had a couple of high cards or Ax, but he slowplayed it and i figured he might feel his hand was good with ace high or some sort of kicker, i figured 2 pair was the best hand

Definitly fold preflop, verry marginal hand and MOST importantly, NO Position.
As played I just call river.

T4o is a worse than average hand. If that were me, I'd be folding it pre-flop and walking away from it.

Am I the only one who wants to raise this preflop? This is a heads up pot in a tournament and hero is on the button. Granted I'm a bad cash game player who hasn't played a tourny in a very long time, but I raise to whatever amount has been the norm so far(if we know what the norm is at this point) and take it from there. Heads up in a tournament, I'd raise any two from the button.

I'd push any two into you from the blinds if you did this too many times at my table. Would you call a push with any two on the button?

Sorry, I'm not saying I'd raise every single time, but I don't see why it isn't an option.

There's nothing wrong preflop, or even on the flop - look how deep the stacks are.
The turn is an absolutely horrible card. You did the beginner move of "look I rivered two pair, let's disregard the board and raise because... well it's 2 PAIR!!!!"
Stop and think - if you raise here, what is your opp going to do? If he has a straight he reraises and you are screwed, if he is bluffing, he folds and your raise gains you nothing, the only time this raise is gaining you value is if you get a worse hand to call. That is going to be so infrequently here that a call is really your best play.
