Post subject: Party Poker Problems

I started playing two tables at a time this week. Yesterday, I folded trip aces on the flop accidentally, (pair in the pocket). I was on the other table and tried to fold the hand when the screen switched just as I clicked it. I wrote customer service and requested they look into fixing their program so it doesn't happen. Other people had to have had this problem. How do you deal with it?
I also have a question for the board. FTR talks about a hand replayer and I downloaded it. The instructions are to go to somewhere on the Party Poker site to retrieve a hand you want to replay. I can't find out where to get the hands. Can anyone help?

I've folded full houses and trips before on accident while playing two tables. I don't play more then one table at a time anymore. Not becuase of the mistakes, I just play better and have more focus with one table at a time.

I have to agree, i've tried playing 2 tables at onve and I find that I am unable to concentrate enough on the tables to get a read on the other players.

Holy crap.. i could only imagine how you must have felt. That kind of thing never happened to me playing two tables, but i can see how it can easily happen to anyone. Sucks big time.

When I play two or three(which is the usual), I increase the resolution of the screen to the point where I can put 4 tables on the screen in different locations, one in each corner. There is a little overlap but not in any area where the "buttons" are. I doubt Party will change anything for you, so this might work for you.

When I play 2 tables, each one is in it's own window. I have the windows seperated.(one of them is in the top right of my screen, the other is in the bottom left) If I am sitting in the right seats, I will be able to see my hand at both tables at the same time. If I can't, at least the FOLD, CALL, ETC buttons will be at a different place.

I play *better* when I run 2 tables, since I play fewer hands per table and am less inclined to "play the player" unless they're clearly asking for it. 3 is about at my limit.

If im not watching tv, I could play 4-tables, but its kind of hectic. Everything is beeping at you. 3-tables + on the monitor is the way to go for me. The bordem playing 1-table is too over-whelming and I dont really want to get involved with opp play. However, I do believe there is a great advantage focusing on 1-table (especially SnGs) and understand opp betting strategy. I even used to take notes, but for me, it made the game to tedious.
However, in SnGs when there are 4-5 opps left, I spend a bit more time on the table b/c I am getting closer to a money situation. Knowing whos on your right and left and opps remaining on the table is a great advantage at that point. I will definately need to change my betting strategy (stealing/defending blinds, aggression, etc) to maximize my chance on getting to the top-3. I also tend to find that opps change their betting strategy at this stage of the tourney so all the early observations arent quite as relevant.

When I play it's almost always 4 tables unless it's Paradise where I only play three. I've actually played up to 6 tables between two different sites before, but it's hard when the screen gets too crowded. If I had another monitor I might do it more regularly. I play this many for SNG's or lower limit ring games. Of course when I do this I am playing the cards more and the people less. As I progress higher in the limits I cut back on the number of tables I play. I'm actually most profitable when I play 3 $50 tables, but because my ass is so ADD I typically stick to 4. Maybe one day I'll find the discipline.
I have been doing this for awhile now and I can't remember a time when I accidentally folded a hand, good or bad. There have been a couple times when I folded good hands because I wasn't paying enough attention, but not by mistake. I always make sure to click in the middle of the screen when I am switching between tables and no where near the call, raise, and fold buttons. I have been doing it for so long it is second nature to just click in the middle of the table. My advice is just be careful about it. Once you do it for awhile you will be switching between tables safely with no problem.

Another bad thing about multiple poker windows is accidently hitting the raise/all-in button. Now I am very careful where I click and position the windows

Thanks, everyone. Lots of good insights. I played with the resolution and I can see how that works. I'm also taking notes from those who don't play multiple tables - good points. I'll see how it goes for me.
