Was very wary of sets/possible made str8s. I thought it quite possible that gavvvy had a set when he minraised the flop, which is why i just called, hoping to possibly fill my boat. However, when he min bet on turn, i reevaluated and put him instead on a good draw.

don't get ahead of yourself or anything. By the way, it's a small pot and we certainly don't want to stack off on this board.

I think the more appropriate advice is to bump it up to $2.50 on the flop and take it from there.

don't be afraid of a minraise on a min bet when you flop top two pair. If someone had a monster, they'd pot it to eliminate drawing hands... which you didn't do.
