I have been reading posts on this site for a bit. I always see a certain thing mentioned, and not sure the meaning.
Many posts talk about my "M" being something, such as M = 5. Can someone please point me to where I can find the meaning of M.

I'm new to poker ( 6 months ) and even newer here. Just registered today but been lurkin for a few weeks.
Thank you.

M is your stack divided by the total of the blinds and antes for one round of hands. Assume the blinds are 100/200 with a 50 ante and there are 10 players and also that your stack is 8000, then M = 8000/800 = 10.

It comes from Harrington on Hold'em, more specifically volume 2 and is used for deciding when to open push in tournaments, among other things.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Welcome to FTR!! Don't worry about posting your questions - that's what the Beginner's forum is for.

What games do you play? SnG's? Cash games? Full ring? 6max? Let us know how it goes at the tables, post some HH's so we can help more.

Again, welcome to FTR. You'll get the most out of it if you get active and post frequently.
