ok, well today i won basically $80 20 tabling 5nl.. didnt take that long. Got my bankroll from $120 to $200.. so i went on 10nl with $6 like i was doing with 5nl and i got totally owned. Im not sure whether i was playing bad or what but there was definitly some coolers. My KK got beat 3 times pre flop all in by aces.. on the flop my qq KK AA kept getting beat by sets and stacking me off.. How the **** do you beat 10nl.. I played exactly the same game as 5nl .. holdem manager is all fucked up so it wont let me use pokerstars with it so i cant give you stats.. Any tips? cheers

coolers or bad play, hard to know without examples or stats to be honest, maybe you went to 10NL too early, perhaps you need more of a safety net to be able to get away from cooler spots, keep beating 5NL until you have more buyins and more confidence.

You want some cheese with that wine? Shit happens. You're not going to get any sympathy here, especially when you post no hands or no stats to back up your questions. How do you beat 10NL? ABC, positionally-aware TAGG poker.

1 days sample isnt really enough to go on. I'm not a big fan of 20 tabling at the micro's, I'd recommend learning to play poker instead of learning to play massive numbers of tables.

Assuming you haven't already done so, you should take steps to get HEM working again. Could you maybe d/l the PT3 trial and use that to get your stats?

maybe you should try to figure out why your hold 'em manager doesn't work, have you downloaded the latest updates? They can be found here:
http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=11641.
Re: 10NL, idk you most likely were not owning 5NL and were not owned at 10NL. You hit some positive variance at 5NL and some negative variance at 10NL (and I'm not just talking about AIEV so HE stats won't help your case)

do you have your hand hsitories backed up?
what exactly dooesn't happen when HEM won't work ?
..does HEM start i.e you can access all the tabs etc.
is HEM not importing the hand histories ?
are you saving the HHs in stars client to hard disc.
Have you checked that your HEM import folder is pointed atthe HH folder.

Go to their web site. They probably have a users forum. Use Google to search for alternate download sites, possibly. Anyway, if you get it installed, read the FAQ for tips on getting it to work with PokerStars. Mine works fine on WinXP.
Also, I lost 6 BI's when I moved to 10NL. Not a big deal. I'll go back to 5NL and build back the roll if I can.

Post actual details of the problem and error messages in the Tools of Poker section and include a link to the post you made on their boards.

If you're interested in making money in poker, then I suggest you stop doing that.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

ok, i stopped 20 tabling lol. My $200 had gone all the way down to 80. I then played 10nl tight and got up to 140. Then LAGged it up hardcore and am now on 250. So fully rolled for 10nl YAY! and found out that a good solid lag game is sooo much more profitable at 10nl then tag..

I really wish you'd stop using tiny sample sizes to base your conclusions on.

i doubt that you understand what a good solid lag game is
Try and describe your good solid lag game.

Challenge: Post long-term HUD statistics and win-rates that back this claim up
Hypothesis: My TAG statistics and win-rates at 10NL > OP LAG
(Prove this wrong)
Recommendation: Study FTR, Learn how to TAG and win long-term consistently
Bankroll Management Recommendation: 30 Buy-Ins for Current Level ($300 @10NL), drop to 5NL at 20 Buy-Ins ($200) and grind back up to $300 for another shot

When I play more than 5 table in Poker Stars
sometimes I end up timed out in some tables
my screen best fit = 4 tables cannot play more than that

umm top pair top kicker is probably OK to felt on a drawy board anyway so it's not like they're making huge mistakes because of your "super agro" play style

Stop 20 tabling for now. FPPs don't really kick into hyper drive until what, 50NL? So what's the point of playing so many.
Play 4 tables at most imo
Also, 10NL is definitely tougher than 5NL. But anyone who reads these forums can beat it for a decent clip over time if they apply themselves.
And it could just be variance.. read this post I made awhile back. It'll give you an idea of how bad (or good) variance can be. Yes, that's right people.. variance actually HELPS better players more and variance HURTS bad players more.
Remember, if it wasn't for luck.. we'd lose em all.

The more Lag you are the Bigger the Br you need at each level. Standard is 40 BI Per level. a Lag player will have way more swings so maybe 50-60 Bi Per level.
