i've just bought super system book.

Should i go right away to the Holdem part or read the other game ?

I never play Seven card stud. Do you think i will help me to improve my game or should i just forget this part ?

I know everyone is playing holdem and holdem only. I actually never play others games. Can i learn something for Holdem if i know how to play omaha or 7 card stud ?

Personally I would first focus on the game you plan to play the most often. If you need a break from eathing, breathing, and thinking holdem for weeks on end you can check out the others.

i think its always a good idea to know how to play every game just in case. if youre ever at a casino and you see a huge amount of fish at an omaha game why wouldnt you sit down there instead.

Super system will get you killed at lower levels. What stakes are you playing?

He's was aggressive against players who were easy to push around.

Now you're playing a player base that likes to gamble.

Definitely read Mike Caro's section, it's great even if you never play a single hand of 5-card draw.

Caro's and Harman's sections are both excellent; although as per another thread a lot of Harman's stuff applies better to higher-stakes games.

I agree for the most part with rilla about Doyle's stuff. But you will, from time to time, find yourself in Doylesque situations, where the whole table seems to be waiting for you to do stuff so they can react to it. That's when you can go like hell.

I highly recommend playing other games, for many reasons:
-Increasing your mental flexibility.
-Sometimes, as now, the competition is a lot keener in one game than another. Playing HoldEm nowadays is like hacking during the dotcom bubble -- it can be very profitable if you're very good, but if you're not you will often just be outclassed. I'm told that Omaha, on the other hand, is very profitable for anyone with their wits about 'em. I've also had great results in Stud HiLo.
-New poker sites (gamesgrid, pokerchamps) offer the best bonuses. But when there aren't that many players on a site yet, you might find yourself having to pick up whatever game(s) are available.

doyles section on no limit cash games doesnt work well at the 25NL tables, specifically the part about putting all your chips in on a draw, your getting called by AA KK every time.

his section about suited connectors and suited gappers against a strong raise from someone with AA KK when you have position on them tho works like a charm.
