Sweet we got 21 as of right now (22 of someone stakes outlaw, but seriously outlaw you got a big enough BR to spare a $10 tourney imo).
Only 11 more and we can kick this beast off.

would love to see this go to 64 sometime, and get FTR to manufacture a trophy.
for you math wizards that fall in love with bracketology this time of year, it would also be fun to design a double-elimination tourney, too.

I hope with this many people you give a little time too get the matches done, with people all over the world playing and shit.
I would suggest 1week per bracket, I know it will take a while but fuck, were dealing with the whole world here.

Okay for me this would need to be done by May 3rd as I go on travels without much internet access then. If this isn't likely I'll have to drop out, depends what the orginaisers etc think? I reckon we could muster 5 days per bracket, if people are dedicated, but if not then I shall withdraw, no worries.

I'm sure we can adjust times/extensions as necessary since April/May is a really busy time for alot of people. I don't see how there's a huge rush to get it done, but obviously let's not drag our matches out for too long.

I ship for boot camp on May 18th so obv it will have to be done b4 that :s. Shouldn't be a problem to get matches rolling after the first 2 rounds or so.

we should do two per week, you get into a rhythm and after doing the match you message the next person and they reply the next day and you play in two or three
it works out pretty well

If you guys want to go ahead and start this thing here is an idea. We give a few byes but make it DE to make it fair for everyone. DE doesn't really slow things down that much because the losers are playing the losers while the winners continue on.
I am okay with just waiting, but if it takes another week to fill the bracket, we could have already been to the semis. Just a thought.
Here is what it might look like. This is basically the format we used in shot online and we were able to usually wrap a tourney up in less than a week with less than 30 players. People just gotta be proactive about playing their games.

OK, but does the winner of the winner bracket get to lose once in the championship game?
Logically it follows that if he never lost a game he'd move down to the losers bracket
Usually double elimination makes sense if there are "groups" like group A, B, C, D
so the guy who goes 2-0 can go on to the semi-finals and get a better seed
and the loser of the winner bracket can play the winner of the loser bracket and get a worse seed

The championship game is the championship game.
If you win the winner's brkt it can take like 5-6 matches. The winner of the loser's brkt has to win like 8+.
I don't care if its DE or not, frankly.. I was just trying to get this thing going faster.
We just need a few more to signup, so come on peeps!

if it's DE, the championship match (Loser's champ vs Winners champ) is a bit different. if the Winner wins, its over, as this would make the 2nd loss for the Loser's champ. however, if the Loser's champ wins, it goes one more match since this is the Winner's champ's "first loss."
see?

I'm not even trying to be a douche or anything but this is poker guys, there's variance involved. These things should be heads-up, single-elimination with a top-heavy pay out structure. That's poker, people win, people lose, the sooner you get over the fact that you're probably going to lose in the first or second round (a mathematical certainty for EVERYONE) the better.
Double elimination changes the dynamic of the game.
