Official Don't Look at Trackers/Cashier Window Week: May 16-22
The idea is to not look at your PT/HEM/whatever or your cashier window for a week. Just grind your hands or hours then go about your business. Who's in?

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Stop losses only help people who pay attention to how much they've lost

in.
maybe you can extend this further when the week is over
now for actual motivation, spoon should write a list of everyone participating in his main message with a box beside the names like so:
[ ] Micro2Maco
when the week is over, those who completed will have their box crossed off like so:
[x] Micro2Macro
while those who fail can have FAIL written in the box like so:
[FAIL] dranger7070
and also have their name posted in a new thread deemed 'The official thread of failures for the official don't look at...etc' thread.
who's in now?

Um...hand review? But it makes sense that you only look back at your sessions to see how much you've won or lost.

Mark hands to review during your session, use filters like 'Today' and I can do the same thing you do without having to use the sessions tab, but no you're absolutely right. I just look to see what I've won and lost.

You're swaying from the argument. You're inferring that the Sessions tab must have winnings on there or it'd be pointless.
And I know I can use the "today" filter...but I find it easier to use the Sessions tab and keep my sessions separate.

Yea, we can take this argument to IRC and stop hijacking spoon's thread lol.
Also, I love that its basically only IRC guys for the most part that have signed up for this so far.

Thing is, if you're not worried about results anyway, I guess looking at your tracker isn't such a problem. I'm assuming that the more experienced players are over that results orientated hurdle by now.

Yes you can use a HUD. No you can't look at your stats/winnings/etc. A quick fix is to set your filter for some date that hasn't happened yet, like October 1, 2010.

<Penneywize> Kiwi / DC - u guys think it'd be a worthwhile experience for someone like me who has ~20k hands experience in 2NL overall? or should I just keep going and developing my game etc
<DC> woudl what be worthwhile?
<Penneywize> the whole 'week of not checking cashier/session results' thing
<DC> yheah
<DC> I did it when I was biting it at 5NL like 4 months ago
<DC> and it worked out well
<DC> and now I dont give a shit about my sessions

I just finished a session. I never look at HEM while playing but I always go to HEM after my session and look at the hands I lost most with and review them. Then I usually take a note about the villain if his a reg and write down a little notes (like a line or two) in a notepad I have on my PC table that I try to think about and do/not do next time I play.
With that being said, sometimes epic losing sessions or a few losing days in a row causes me to not play for a period of time (longest being two weeks or so but usually 3-5 days). Not looking at HEM and playing ofcourse would lead to a solution to this problem.
Currently I'm not sure which of these is better. Not looking at HEM and being able to grind more or reviewing HH's more often and try to fix leaks.
Since I've never not looked at my winnings/losings for a week, I shall give this a try. A week of not looking and then a long review session followed by another week of not looking.

If HEM would let you do a filter or a report to just see hands where you won/lost X big blinds, that could be useful for you.

EP: If you didn't get conflicting information in IRC, it would either mean everyone there was a complete expert at poker or that poker was an easy easy game that could always be defined objectively by almost everyone.
If you still think either of these is the case, you are a tard.
