What's a sweat session?
A sweat session (or sweating another player) means watching another person play and making comments on their play and thought processes. It's similar to a session review, except it happens in real time. It's another great way to help each other and share ideas about poker.
What software do I need to participate?
Most people use a free program called TeamViewer that's easily found with Google to watch other peoples screens as they play. You can also talk via audio with another free program called Skype which works like an instant messenger service but is set up to allow people to talk to each other with microphones like a telephone. You could use AIM or Yahoo IM or something like that as well if you don't want to use Skype to talk during your session.
What do I need to do to get involved?
Post here what game you play (ie: 25nl 6m) and what time of day/week you're available. Then use PMs here on the site or other instant messenging tools to set up meetings with other people who play similar stakes as you. Arrange when Player A will watch Player B (and for how long), and when Player B will watch Player A (and for how long), etc.
Feel free to post any other questions.

I guess I'll be the first to jump on this.
I've never participated in a sweat session, but I'm ready to give it a shot!
I'm playing 25nl 6max on FTP. I generally play 2 sessions per day, at about 5pm and 9pm pacific, about 2-3 hours each depending on how I feel. I can also get a session in around noon if that helps to match things up as well.

Awesome thread, I've no idea why FTR hasn't had one of these before.
I'm defo up for sweats both UK afternoons and evenings. I'm currently rebuilding at 25NL 6max on stars, shouldbe 50NL pretty soon. Up for both watching/helping lower stakes/weaker players and also being sweated by stronger ones too.
Gots skype and headset. Please PM me if interested.

I'm in! Recently dropped back to 2NL to try and improve my overall winrate instead of relying on rakeback to move me up stakes. Play 6m generally all weekend and most afternoons Mon, Wed-Fri. I'm on Central standard time.

I have Skype and teamviewer installed (used it with M2M once).
I play on Pokerstars most nights after 8pm cst. I play 10NL 6-max and recently have been playing a little 25NL (about 3k hands). I usually play 4 tables or less.
PM me if interested in being the sweater or sweatee.

5nl/10nl 6m on FTP. I've been as high as 50nl FR, and I've done multiple sweats with a lot of different players. I have no problem helping out players underneath me, and obviously I eagerly welcome anyone that is better that wants to give me some pointers.

Big thanks to Muzz for sweating me last night.
For anyone who hasn't given this a go, it's really helpful getting a second opinion on how you play, so don't be scared to give it a go.

Are there ever group sessions? I'd be unwilling to take part in a 1 on 1 because Im still very raw and wouldn't be able to give much (if anything) back.

I suggest any of you players looking for a sweat to go to the IRC. It is a lot easier to get a sweat going if you are in a chat together.
As for a sweat, I will be playing four tables of 25NL 6-max soon if anybody would like to sweat.
|

That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

I really like this idea. I play 2NL on pokerstar. Available most of the time mainly.
I prefer to see full-ring microstakes (2NL to 25NL)

Can someone please watch me play some time and give me some pointers? Have teamviewer but no skype, can talk on msn or irc.
I'm only single tabling 2nl on stars. Available any day/time.
I suck terribly and am aware of it.

4-8 tabling 5nl-2nl on Stars atm, and would definitely be keen to be the sweatee of some more experienced players round here. My skype is the same as my screen name and my pokerstars handle (all "jaytoi"). I feel confident that i could help a struggling 2nler move up stakes as recently i've been dominating it, so i'd love to be a sweater for anyone having trouble at that stake. I usually play a night session( for me in Aus) at 6:00/7:00 ET and a morning session at 16:00/18:00 ET. PM if interested!

Hey! I would definitely like to be included in this. I 4 table 2nl/5nl. Play a couple hours at least every day and I'm down for sweating with a player at any stakes, at my level I am sure I could learn things from most everyone. I am on Central Standard Time. Send me a message if you are interested!

i should get my shit together and start doing this kind of stuff. i live in australia which i think puts me in EST timezone. recently decided to cull my bankroll and grind from scratch at 2nl FR on stars for disciplinary reasons. im usually pretty busy trying to do schoolwork but i can just put in a couple of extra here or there to fit sweats in. PM me if interested.

I desperately need someone to watch me play and give me thoughts. The only problem is I usually am on overnights EST, playing in midnight madness on full tilt. I am looking for a winning 25NL (or better) player to dissect my moves and tell me what the fck im doing wrong.
Please PM me if youd like to take a look.

So I'm wanting to share a session at least every other week or more often if possible. I would like others to watch and help me as well as watch others who play better than I (most all of you) who are also able to and don't mind narrating their game as they play.
I've recently busted down to 2nl after a horrible downswing. I've played 10nl alot but took a long break and came back at 5nl moved upto 10nl again then the world crashed down upon my felt.
I typically play in the mornings from about 9:15is to 10:30 (west coast time) and am available every Thursdays and some Wednesdays.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

Hey guys, I'm interested in sharing sessions with someone, skype would work best for me, as I can just select part of my screen & then have the mic too. I'm unsure how solid my ring game play is, as I am just getting back into it, but I would love to exchange sessions with any range of players. I don't exactly have a steady schedule as I work part time during the summer now while I'm off from college, but I'm willing to try to work out times!

Ok people, PEEEOOOPLE
Get your asses to irc and see who's currently playing. This is a much more reliable way to set up a session right now.
So far ZERO people have contacted me on the basis of this thread. Some say it's because I am greatly unpleasent to be around and don't actually know anything about poker. Some say it's because I have private messages disabled and no idea how to enable them again. EXCUSES I say!
Go to irc. This is how you get there:

Anyone up for a sweat later tonight? If ya don't know me I 24-table FR 25NL (actually moved up to 50NL today) and have an hourly rate of $31/hr. I would of course 2-4 table for the sweat.
I was thinking of doing a micro stakes session anywhere from 5NL to 25NL. I can either sweat someone or they can watch me.. or we can do a group thing. I am on the road for work and bored as hell

I've always wondered how people like yourself can multitable 20+ tables and still be able to turn a profit. I mean, aside from having a HUD, with so little time to react between actions do you not miss out on so much vital information and essentially lose a lot of your edge? I can only imagine that with so many tables you probably play fit-or-fold game and seldom bluff? Do you have hand prerequisites, e.g., you'll always fold top pair to a big river bet but will always call with top 2? Aren't you easily exploited? I suppose it does largely depend on the stakes you play at but it's still a mystery to me how you guys pull it off.

I have been playing video games since I was in kindergarten... and after about 10,000 hrs playing meridian 59/everquest etc.. I guess your brain gets good at making quick decisions. I also have a chess background which helps a lot.
I play exactly the same as I would 2-4 tabling. I am guessing I would run about 5-6BB/100 or so 4 tabling 25NL, this month I am running 3BB/100 24-tabling. The difference is I guess I miss out on some marginal money making spots. Its hourly rate I am most interested in. If I want to get better at poker I watch videos, read a book, or read FTR. Playing is not the time to work on your game imo, its the time to make money.
There is no set formula I follow.. I just try to play the best I can each hand and move on. It does take some practice, but you'd be surprised what the human brain is capable of if you use complete focus.
And its not like I don't have ample time to make decisions.. 1,500 hands an hour can get boring.. I sometimes wish stars would let us 30 table or something. I have watched videos of people play 24 on stars and 16 on FT simultaneously.. I may try that some day when I improve.
