I was just curious of the odds on this occurrance...
I have pocket 7s, and there's one player left with me. The flop comes KK7, and I bet -- to which he pushes, and I do the same.
They flip over KQ.
So, at this point, here's the breakdown:
Me: 77
Them: KQ
Flop: KK7
What are the odds of each party winning?
Best,
EW
PS - Obviously, I don't have to tell you the ending.

You're roughly a 3.5:1 favorite ( I just picked random suits so it's not exactly right. But close enough).
You got your money on the table the favorite-- you made the right play, even if you lost.
Meh, it happens. Here's an 11.5:1 favorite going down in flames. I was pissed for a while. Now I just laugh about it:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Button ($6.80)
SB ($32.64)
BB ($3.22)
UTG ($10.07)
UTG+1 ($3.92)
Hero ($9.33)
MP2 ($14.97)
MP3 ($4.02)
CO ($10)
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 8 , 8 .
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.05, Hero calls $0.05, 2 folds, CO raises to $0.25, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.20, Hero calls $0.20.
Flop: ($0.82) J , 2 , 8 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, CO bets $0.85, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $1.7, CO raises to $9.75, Hero calls $7.38 (All-In).
Turn: ($19.65) 2 (2 players, 1 all-in)
River: ($19.65) A (2 players, 1 all-in)
Final Pot: $19.65
Results:
Hero has 8s 8h (full house, eights full of twos).
CO has As Ac (full house, aces full of twos).
Outcome: CO wins $19.64.

Meh, it's probably not important, but I prefer enumeration (like the twodimes site).
As for the hand itself; well if you lost it it's a tough break. But one would hope it's a fairly regular occurance. I mean, if we can get all our money in on 3:1 shots then we're going to be doing well.
I think the surprising point on this hand is that he has quite a number of outs. There's his 4 on the turn (the K and 3 Qs) but if he misses (and providing it's not a seven) he then has 7 outs on the river (if he pairs the turn card).
So what happened? Q on the river? That would seem the most likely suck out.
