Hey I just got done playing 2 sit n gos on pokerstars and for both games I could not catch any cards that were worth playing and towards the end of the games I could not compete with so little chips compared to everyone else's huge stacks.
How do I play smart but at the same time make some chips along the way?

Post those two tournaments and some of the SNG players can take a look and see if you truly were just card dead or if you are missing some crucial steal attempts.

I'm not very good at SnG's so I don't have much to offer in terms of gameplay advice, but I suggest that you read some of the stuff in the SnG forum, starting with the links listed here:

Along with what Hawk said, I HIGHLY suggest you read through a more experienced players SNG HH. It will let you look through the game as if youw ere playing and you can see if you would have made a similiar play. You'll also notice times when they get into a pot with a less than premium hand, which if you want to win SNGs you have to learn to do. Note: this does not mean getting into pots early in the sng with weak holdings. Yet this refers to bubble or end game play, when the blinds are big in relation to the stack sizes and you have to make a play.
I suggest reading the digest Hawk linked, along with:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...on-t50176.html
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...on-t50295.html
Also a very good suggestion is to download the 30day free trial of SNGWIZARD and run all your tournaments through it after your session. Will help determine if you are playing a sound push/fold game or not.

Yeh i agree, sng tourneys can become very shove/fold type of game. If you are very tight it will be tough to loosen up enough to start shoving all in with suited connecters or k high when on the button to steal blinds, adjust your game to suite the situation, but YOU WILL catch good cards just put in more volume.
