My info

- Canadian, currently playing at Party
- Swap btwn phases of playing 5 and 10 NL FR and 3 and 6 SNG's with a current $180 roll
- Don't have rakeback, e-passporte, pokertracker (tried out the trial), or anything of the sort
- Play varies but I'm guessing 5-10 hrs/wk, so not a lot + a 5 hr cash game every fri night.

Any ideas on what to do. I know what rakeback is but I'm not sure how much it could help me at these levels. I seem to be a fairly break even player and am trying to improve that. 2 reasons for getting away from party are I would like to post some forum friendly HH's and haven't found a converter that like party yet. Also playing the SNG's I don't like the 20% rake at the 2 levels I play at. I'm pretty much considering the major ones - PS, UB, FT. With the small bonus at PS I could just move $50 over and grind up the micro's. I'm unsure if I move $150+ that I won't be playing forever to clear bonus at the other sites.

Rakeback is the single most important thing in online poker for any given grinder.

Be sure to get it wherever you sign up, because its only available at signup. If you do not get it then, you won't ever be able to get it at that site under your accountholder's name. Then you'll only have other types of bonuses available, if the site in question offers them.

I'd suggest PS because of the small bonus and heavy traffic at lower limits. But Party is fine too. As you get a larger roll, you can move to a site which offers a big deposit bonus you can take advantage of.

Get both Moneybookers and Neteller. I don't have firsthand experience with ePassporte, but if you can get them, why not?

Also, if you are serious about your game, you'll need Poker Tracker-esque software to review your hands played. There are many available on the market now, or soon to be released. Just be sure to properly research all available options to see which one suits your particular needs before you splunk the cash.

Good luck

Canadians can't use Neteller for poker, so don't bother with that.

I went to join PS but was told they don't do rakeback. A quick search on Google brought up threads by others asking the same, only to be told by fellow forumers taht there is no RB at PS.

yeah, pokerstars bonus system works similarly to rakeback if you spend your FPP's on cash bonuses. At micro and low stakes its a fairly small % of Rakeback, but once you move up to small/mid stakes it equals out to 25%-30%.

That sounds similar to party. At the rate I play, I would guess I could clear the minimum about 4x /year for $100 total. I'm guessing it would be close to the same elsewhere. I think I'll give PS a shot and maybe leave enough to re grind at party also. Then down the road when I have some more $$ I will hit a site with the bigger initial bonus and see if I can make that worthwhile.

THanks
