Havent posted in awhile, glad to have the fever back. Took some time off.
Have a couple of questions on how you guys play some things. Lets say you just get on a table. 100NL You pick up AK. you raise and your raise is called. Flop comes AKsuitedspades3hearts. you go out and bet $10 other player who called your raise calls again. turn is 3diamonds. You bet another $10. Now guy comes in over top and goes all in. I jsut started playing the table so I have no read on this guy. You lay down top two pair or call. Well I called and he turns over A3 for a boat. River comes5 I loose. What would you have done against all in?
also what do you guys prefer to do. Multitable 3 25NL or 1 100NL

I call here devoid of a read as well. I make that play with any ace.
When the board is AK33 and I have Ax, I figure I'm splitting with another ace so I need to muscle him out.
Playing 3 25NL just isn't as sexy as 1 or 2 100NL.

if it where me, I would have layed it down. He showed strenght and you did have a great hand the board did pair and when it did he raised you all in. Now this is a rule that I usually do, if I dont have a good read, or I havent been playing at the table long so I dont have a good read on the table, lay the hand down, dont loose your stack on an iffy call. Save your money for when you know you are going to win and make him feel like he has to make the iffy call. This hand could be argued either way, either you fold and loose 100% of the time, or you could call and since there are only two people in the hand win 50% of the time, so this conversation could go on for hours. My honest opinion was to fold this one and save it for when you know your going to take home the gold.

You have good reason to believe you have the best hand here, but most people don't push all in over the top on a pair of aces. You can either put him on AA, KK or A3/K3/33/x3, which are all fairly unlikely in this situation but he could have one of them.
He shouldn't have called preflop with a 3 in his hand. Now you know he plays Ax. You'll get some money back by pulling better hands.
So I think this is just a bad beat, and now you know this guy goes all in with the nuts, and plays Ax.

wouldnt the nuts be pocket 3's? How much did you raise preflop? This guy is no dout a moronic fish, I wouldnt go as far to call it a bad beat, but it def is not somthing that you love to look at. The way he played the hand looked a lot like a "I slowplayed my trip aces or kings or threes and now im going to smooth call". Then on the turn the boat came, so he did the whole " Now im going to be sneaky and reraise him all in so he doesnt know what to do". A very interesting concept about people is they dont like to think in the long term so how much they bet and how much they make over one year plus doesnt matter to them. They want to make 500000000000$ off of their 50-100$ buy in, when most of the time they go broke. Watch for playes like the one above, betting as much as possible to a lot of unskilled players is exactly what the people on TV do, so I can do it too and become a professional. All ins in a ring game usually means the goods, so dont over look that and think everyone is trying to bluff.
