Greetings all,
I am new to FTR, but have been lurking for a little while now. I just wanted to post a "thank you" to the members for all the insight into the game I have picked up. I have kind of a sordid history with online poker. About 3 years ago I started playing online, knowing how to play poker and not much else. If I had taken the time to find resources such as this, I would have been in much better shape. I played LHE (mostly 30-60 on PS up to 150-300 on UB). Had I known about the bankroll management techniques disucussed here, I would have not experienced the newbie cycle of death mentioned in the posts. I would deposit 600 bucks and run it up playing 30-60 and keep moving up limits short bankrolled. It finally caught me when playing 150-300 on UB and dumping 30k of a 40k roll on tilt in one night. Anyway, I quit playing poker for about a year. Recently, I decided to take up the game again and do it right this time. I decided to concentrate on NLHE, as I was pretty much strictly limit before. I had some points in an old UB account and played in a small tourney netting $4. I took that to the $2 tables and went to work. Over a couple of weeks I have ran that to $127 by playing $2 NLHE, a little $10 NLHE and ITM in 4 of 5 $5 SNG's. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and let you know how much I appreciate being able to study the thinking that goes on here. Hope to see you at the tables soon!
