So after thinking about the skill level in NL Ring games do you think it follows the same pattern as SNG's.
25nl and 50nl
Is compared to as 5.50 sng's and 10+1's there is no skill level change.
You step up to 100nlIs like steppin up to the 20's not that much of a difference some donkeys but a few more aware players.
200nl More aware players more peopel exploiting certain players. 50+5 sng's a jump up in skill level. more aware players.
400nl the same as 100 sng's
smarter players couple donks/ randoms.
100 sng players a step up from normal play and fewer donks / randoms.

I am just saying in general are they comparable not as a 50sng player vs a 100nl player but.
If i grinded sng's owuld it be the same skill level change as grinding cash games. and where would the bigger jumps be.
I don't want to compare 5 sng players to 25nl players. compare them to thier on game and the levels of play

if i was to find a competent 100nl player at sngs id have to look at least higher than $22s and to be honest id like to look a lot higher than that.

SnGs don't break somewhat bad players as fast as the ring.

Full ring on Party:
25nl: 85% fish, 10% semi-aware, 5% aware
50nl: 75% fish, 15% semi-aware, 5% aware, 5% shark
100nl: 60% fish, 20% semi-aware, 15% aware, 5% shark
200nl: 40% fish, 25% semi-aware, 20% aware, 15% shark
...as far as I can tell.

Poker Stars plays a level or two tougher (well at least tighter.)

Renton, define shark, and explain what the hell they're doing at 25NL?

My defination of shark would be. Someone who is crushing the current level and needs to move up in stakes. Therefore a shark at 25 nl or 50 nl might only be a aware or semiaware player at 100nl. In my opinion rentons numbers seem to be correct except that the percent of aware players and sharks will be encountered more since they will be more likely to multi-table.

50nl is where he mentioned the 5% sharks - But I would like to know the definition of a shark as well....I mean, you still need SOME cards to win, right?

Oh, you're right, silly me. I guess crushing the stakes is accurate, but there also has to be some sense of taking advantage too - I guess it's all intrinsically linked. maybe a shark is someone who has got far too good for the level but for comfort or withdrawal reasons, hangs around there anyway and pwns the fish? (I sorta do this at £25 but I'd never describe myself as a shark).

a shark at 25nl would be someone beating at 12+ptbb/100 for a large sample.

Before he cleaned out his BR and checking account losing heads up matches, my friend was killing the NL10 and NL25 games on stars.
And trust me, he was HARDLY a shark.
Ya'll think I'm a nit?? you should see him.
