So I play 300$ buyin NL exclusively at a B&M. Hit a rough patch and down 5 buyins in 3 days.
2 set over sets and other disasters. Lost every single big pot i got involved in, in the past 3 days (2 pair vs flush draw, oesd who all seemed to get there). But that probably is just a regular occurence in any poker player's life.

How many buyins one drops before they realise its a downswing and not just regular swing in NL.

I am well rolled for this level in NL but if i am running this bad, should i be better off dropping down early and get through this card storm at a lower level

A downswing is part of regular swings. The fact that you've gotten unlucky in the past does not affect your chances of being unlucky in the future.

Move down when you no longer feel like you have an edge, or you are below 20 buy-ins (or 10 or whatever)

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
i drop 3 or 4 regularly just through mistakes/bad play etc so if iwas runing bad id have to say it was 8+ at least to think i was downswinging

I'm down four just because of two gasses of wine (1 buyin) AA vs. KK (1 buyin, I was KK) and just general bad/tired play the other day (2 buyins).

I think Biondino went on a 12 or 14 buyin downswing towards the end of last year.

thanks for the advice guys. If you played at our B&M you would realise how hard it is to lose over a given month...players are THAT bad !! I was just wary after getting colddecked but since i am well rolled

Fnord "Your problem might not be big pots."

Did you mean that
1) I am not stealing pots enough?
2) I am taking weak hands to big pots?
