Hey all,
I discovered the joy of poker like two weeks ago. so far I've been playing for play money, reading books and forums, and generally having a blast!

I have a question regarding postion which is soooo noobish...
I tried to figure out (using information on the net) what seat belongs to which position but it seems that there is no one answer. some sites have:

Early position = SB + BB + UTG
while other sites have:
Early position = UTG + (UTG +1 ) + (UTG +2 ) and the blinds are in their own position.

therefore its not always clear, when one looks up strategy tables, which is which.

anyone can clarify this for me?
thanks.
stan

Generally blinds are considered differently. The positions usually refer to pre-flop:
UTG
UTG+1
UTG+2
MP
MP+1
MP+2 (or HJ)
CO
BTN
SB
BB

Since SB and BB are last to act pre-flop they're not considered EP. Since they're first to act after the flop they can't be considered LP. I think it's best to think in groups of EP,MP,LP,blinds.
