I have recently bought a new laptop and this in itself has meant more profit, i am now able to play 4 tables easily. i was struggling before with only 2, i guess my old laptop just couldnt cope properly with two tables and poker tracker and gt plus. I am now able to also check mail, points earned etc and i have adapted to 4 tables very easily and quickly and may try more very soon. Therefore a message to anyone in a similar position consider a new pc it should pay for itself quickly. Now to my question :- How many of you use a wireless connection and do you find it 100% reliable? I set up a wireless network and it drops out often. As I play $25nl I therefore pay 75c for each circuit per table so a dropout costs me $3 approx depending on position because it takes about 5 mins to reconnect (not to mention hands I might be involved in). I guess I just got a crappy rueter (linskys). Can someone tell me if this is worthwhile trying to set up and if they have gone through this process what rueter works well? I only ask because I am disabled and have to rely on someone to plug me in every time I move around the house as I am in a wheelchair. I guess I may have to live with cables across the room.

My pc is nailed to the router with a nice, old-fashioned bit of CAT5 cable. I had the wireless drop out on me during a tourney once and by the time I got it back up and running (the ID the table had for me was locked to the laptop, so the desktop could not take over) I was down in chips so much that I could not come back.

I know a few people that quad-table effectively with a laptop and wireless, but I don't trust it that much. Besides, working/playing poker anywhere except in the office is a bit too distracting.

i use a laptop and wireless almost all the time when I play. depends on the location, using my connection(s) at school, it is ultra-reliable. at home it cuts out once every hour or two for ~2 minutes at a time.
i betcha that i got something you ain't got, that's called courage, it don't come from no liquor bottle, it ain't scotch

I would never use wireless while I'm playing... disc can happen at the worst times....
