Hi, i am a casual player playing on partypoker 25NL

The hands i have the most problem with is when i limp in with couple players and i flopped top pair but with a very low kicker <9.

If i am holding Ax, Kx, Qx, i normally just test and bet half the pot. cause i know in partypoker people loves to play high face cards with any kicker, so i don't know if my hand is good or not at this pt. Is my bet right ? i would love to hear what would you guys do in this sitiuation.

and what happen if u get a call? do i keep leading or check turn or river?

thanks in advance!!

Bet it for value, take it to the river.

...and keep those reloads comming. Does Party have an automatic debit system for casual players? Something to look into...

thx for the reply.

cause i am a pretty tight player. a student of dan harrington

so i only limp in late position mostly button or button+1 with those hands.

so most of the time i face a continuation bet infront of me. do i raise to see where i stand? but the thing is how big should be the reraise? cause min raise won't push anybody away in partypoker. any reraise more than that is too much for a test bet huh?

I guess Dan can begin to guess how Jesus feels about how people have interpreted the stuff he said...

When did this forum turn into 2+2 ?

To the OP:
You are not playing tight. You play too many hands and you go too far with them.
This is a very hard question to answer since there are so many variables in poker. You have to take what you know about your opponents, as well as all prior action into account in the hand.
A couple general rules: You are more apt to have the best hand with a K or Q than an A, since so many players will have play any A.
Good observation about the minraise not pushing players out. Understand though, that it would often be incorrect for them to fold if you did minraise, since they will be getting good odds on a call.
You need to take into account what you know, and when you raise, raise for value. Information should be a side effect of your raises, not a purpose for them. If you think that given what you know up to this point, you often have the best hand, put in a substancial raise of at least 3x the original bet, or the size of the pot, whichever is more. Their action based on your raise should give you a great idea of where you stand.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Jesus has 5WSOP bracelets, Harrington only has one.
