I've just busted my whole bankroll for the 3rd time in several months. Now I'm at rock bottom of my poker "career," and need advice on my next move.

Basically tilt is what cause me to lose my bankrolls. I've decided to take a month off of poker to clear my head. During the course of that month, I will be saving $1,000 to start playing again. (make that $1,055, for pokertracker) The reason for that is I plan on exercising bankroll management, something I ignored in the past.

I was lucky enough to "sucessfully" tilt (lol) during my last tilt episode. By successfully tilting I mean, I lost $1,500 in a few hours and took my last $500 to the $5/$10 table. I managed to leave the table with $2,500 and cashed out every single penny. But, that was only once out of four times. I bought a laptop with that money, it was the greatest feeling in the world. That still doesn't make up for the other 3 times I busted my roll due to tilt.

3 rules I will follow when I start playing again are:
Most important to least important

1. Never risk more than 10% of my BR in any given session
2. Never move up limits due to losing
3. Avoid tilt at all cost (easier said than done)

With that said, I'm curious as to what you fellow FTR posters think? Am I making the correct descision? Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated, have a nice day!

I would play smaller limits until I could cope effectively with tilt.

Swings like you're talking about are out of your bankroll anyway.

When you can take your beats in stride without getting overly upset, then play as high as your bankroll allows. I find whining almost as effective as tilting; post a bad beat or something.

GL though.

It looks like you're on the path to recovery by praciticing good bankroll management. As far as tilting goes, recognize the HANDS that make you go tilt. Personally, I tilt when I lose a big pot because I make a stupid ass call on the river or when they outdraw my set or better. If I lose a buy in because of one of those situations, I STOP PLAYING. Don't play for at least a few hours. Do something else until you've forgotten about poker completely. That's the beauty of online play. You can just quit and go download porn or something (j/k).
