Maybe I shouldn't be posting this, but DO NOT try to get a warez version of PO. Obviously you should pay the creator for his hard work, but for your own good too.
A couple days ago I went to instruct some friends on online poker since they had been complaining they had lost over $90 already. (I had hyped em for poker a few weeks ago and hadn't seen em since) Two of em played on 2 comps with me sitting in the middle giving advice and they made it all back (and a bit more).
But anyway, they tried to install a warez version of PO and Kaspersky caught a backdoor trojan being installed! Basically it installs netBIOS on your PC, giving remote control over your PC. And it makes a log file of all your passwords and sends it to the hackers every day. Kinda nasty if you're fidgeting with money online!
I tried both PT and PO and I liked PO a lot more (once you install the MySQL database that is) but be sure to either buy it or use one of those freebies, tons of sites have those for PO. Otherwise you might wake up some day and find all your money gone..

Lukie's FTR posts (not a program obviously, but they are so good I couldn't leave this one out)
I could also use a graphing program for pt, but I've yet to get one.

Pokertracker is a must. There's no excuse for not using it (or another similar app)
Gametime+ is handy if you don't want to spring for PAHud.
PokerPatterns does graphing for BR and BB/100 etc - http://www.pokerpatterns.com/
