I need some advice from some of my fellow poker brothers. I play in a regular live game with a group of guys. In our group we have one guy that is the true meaning to a calling station. My question is how do you deal with a calling station that is just running good. Here is an example of a hand I played please give me some advice on what I am doing wrong.
Should I just keep pots small and only value bet this guy or just continue to push and wait for his luck to change.

Blinds are 1.00/2.00
Hero is sb 75.00 Jc7s
Player 1 bb 100.00
Player 2 Deal. 25.00
Player 3 110.00

Pre flop pot 8.00
Family pot

Flop
Js5s10h
Hero bets 6.00
Plyr 1 calls 6.00
Plyr 2 folds
Plyr 3 folds

Turn 2s pot 20.00
Hero bets 14.00
Plyr 1 calls 14.00

River 6s pot 48.00

Hero bets 16.00
Plry 1 calls

Plyr 1 has ks 5h

Please let me know what I did wrong. Thanks

Don

this. Doesn't really mean to only build a pot with the nuts. But if he is never folding, then don't bluff him. There will be some flops when you check/fold your overs and you don't c-bet. But when you do hit a good hand, then bet, bet, bet. And I suggest bet pot, bet pot, get it in.

One thing though, why is everyone here half-stacking or less? You only have 38 or so big blinds. Why not buy in for the max $200 or lower the blinds to something like $0.50/$1.00 which would make it more reasonable.

With these stacks at these blinds I think you'll have to stack off with TPGK. Wait till you get a hand like QK on a 37Q flop, and then bet, bet bet.
Bet sizing is important. Make it at least 8$ to go with your good hands. when you make a slightly under psb on the flop and turn, then you can shove the river. If he drew out: reload.

There is no such thing as "running good" Just because somebody had a couple of lucky hands doesn't mean anything for the next hand. Luck doesn't change. It's always the same for everyone.
And I don't see a1000$ stack here, so nobody's really running THAT good.

In the hand - it really hurts my eyes to figure this out without formatting - try to use the card emoticons if you can.

Complete is so-so... J7 is pretty much as bad as it gets.
Flop bet is so-so. It's a multi-way pot, you have top pair and no kicker. The board very draw heavy... you have no way of knowing where you're at if you get a call.
Turn bet is ok.
On the river you're basically bluffing. Just check/fold.

In this situation I would check the flop since your as OOP as it gets. If it checks through, you can safely bet the turn and shut down when another spade hits.

strengthen your faith in "the loooooong term" and stop thinking about one particular session.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

Why do you bet a 4-flush on the board with only the 7 sooted in your hand?
Just playing to improve.

I should have just checked, i just had a problem with laying down the hand after the pot my final bet was only like 1/3rd of the pot. but you are right i should have just checked. my bet was way to week to try to push out a small spade so i would have been better to just give the hand up. Even though he should have been gone on the turn. But this is just one my many holes in my game. I keep reading and get better by the day. Won't make that mistake again.
