i think that you will go busto-pronto.
Read the bankroll management stuff, and think about variance. Say you've managed to work your $1 up to $5 and you've bought into 2 tables with $2.50 on each. And on each you are dealt KK and get it all in pre-flop. And in each you lose. Challenge fail.

if you wanna take that route, grind 2nl up to 10
5nl once at 10
5nl to 25
10nl once at 25
somethin like that, your plan is cutting it too close..
remember, there are always bad beats,
like when i had 55 on a board that was 8895K
4 flush cards and hes super aggressive, its like, duh, he has ace of hearts..
no, he had 89 and took all my money

you asked for opinions. I gave one, it wasn't supposed to come across as "dumb" or insulting.
If you want to do it, go for it. Especially if the money involved isn't particularly important to you - it would be cool to be able to say you got your poker bankroll started with only $1. I was just pointing out that there is a good chance that it won't work out and that you will end up busto_soon...

Lol, man this thread deserves 5 stars not 1!!
The idea seemed fun (a version of the DC but not exactly), however from memory you concluded with a line like "turning $2 into $25 would be significant for me", which makes me think its not such a great idea for you. Seems more like you were trying to build a roll ignoring BRM then having some fun.

When I said turning $1 into $25 would be significant I didn't mean it would be significant for my BR lol. I meant that it would be significant being able to turn such a small amount into something useable. Some of the posts after I "edited" it make me wish I hadn't now lol. Shouldn't took what those guys said so seriously. O well lol. Thanks everyone else. Maybe I'll change it back in a lil bit.

ok Y is the idea lame? i asked for opinions. i was kinda hopin for a lil elaboration lol. it is YOUR opinion i guess, and you are entitled to it. o well, didnt mean to be such a whine a$$ about it, i was really tired when i posted that stuff (pulled an all nighter than stayed up all day lol). im feelin a lil less bitchy so i thought id apologize. sorry speedcake and everyone else.
Update:
Woke up late as hell today. I almost missed class. So im gonna start it tomorrow afternoon.

I really should have just deleted your reply but the OP had already seen it and reacted to it, so there was no point. Please don't reply like that in the future. Even if you do think the idea is a bad one, elaborate on why you feel that way or don't bother.
I'm locking this thread because most of us have no freaking clue what it's even about. Start a new one if you insist on talking about it still.
