I recently signed up for a bonus which I quickly realized I would not be able to clear by playing at a single table for the usual number of hours I play per week. So of course I added a second table, then a third. This was hectic. I never had any read on anyone. I worried that my sometimes delayed responses would 'tell' others something accidentally. A couple of times I accidently folded the wrong hand . A couple of times I accidentally raised the wrong hand . I didn't have time to go back an see what cards some yahoo just mucked. Heck, sometimes I didn't get to go back to see if I even won the showdown! My shitty computer wouldn't multi-table when PT was importing, so I had to play w/o PT. And I smoked my usual number of cigarettes/100 hands (ie 3x what I usually do).

And I made money.

I know one week of play is not a valid sample: it was 1,000 hands. I usually had the tallest stack at at least one table . I more than doubled my $200 buy-in to $415 in 1,000 hands (and got a $100 bonus on top of that). My bb/100 was three times what it usually is.

So my question: Am I on to something here, or just had one hell of a run of cards and good tables? Does anyone else play BETTER multi-tabling. I understand that if your bb/100 is X then you'll make 3X by playing 3 tables. That's not what I mean. I mean: Does anyone else think or know that their bb/100 is higher?

Will I ever single-table again?

I couldn't imagine playing one table. Even playing three tables I start fidgeting and squirming. Five tables all the time. It's the only way I can play.
Light years ahead of the competition.

I always multi-table better than single, but I don't always have the luxury of just playing poker, which means I'm usually single-tabling and doing other things. I love multi though, I seem to always make money fast that way.

When you multi-table you play your cards more than you play the players. Simple as that. What you experienced is what I'd expect. When you play more tables you tighten up big-time. Playing only premium hands in NL will give you a chance to make some serious bank. PLUS, you're not bored as hell just playing one table....All of the sudden you can lay down ATs UTG instead of calling, hitting your ace, and then losing huge to AK or AQ.

You say that it's a little crazy doing more than one table? Well, all I can say to that is you'll get used to it. I remember back a few months ago when I started two-tabling. I thought it was nuts, and actually told Ilikeaces86 (who staked me and was watching me) that I didn't think I'd ever be able to four-table. It just seemed to go so fast...

Two months later I am four tabling and sometimes even *that* gets boring if I'm running cold.

Also...about getting reads. You can still get reads four-tabling. Just not as many, and not as spot on. But you still get them. It'll just take some getting used to. Here in a few weeks (or two months like me) you'll wonder how you *ever* one-tabled in the first place.

I still one-table. Once in a while I multi table, but 4 tables of 6max no limit would be crazy for me to get used to. I think I will start 2 tabling more and hopefully add another as time goes on. Thanks for the thread! I forgot about multi-tabling...
