hi long time reader, first time making a post. I play .5/.10 on bodog and have been playing on there for about half a year now, i play on both 6 max and full ring, two tables. Im just wondering if there is an ideal amount of tables to play on and how much more/less profitable it is to play on more tables?

I think 4-6 is probably ideal at 6-max, but just gradually increase 1 at a time until you feel comfortable.

there is no ideal # of tables to play. Play as many as you feel comfortable with while maintaining the highest $/hr. If you play 2 tables and make $10/hr and 4 tables you make $4.50 an hour, then you are more profitable playing 2. You just have to try it out and find what your optimal number of tables is.

I've usually play about 2-4 tables (6max); I started with one, then added another etc, but even with 4 tables I find there are often times when I'm not doing anything, so I use the time to take a few quick notes.

Have seen some players play like 15 tables though, not sure how they cope :/

I thought the crappy Bodog software only allowed for 3 tables maximum?

its a personal thing, as others have said.

personally, i do about 3-4. i see a drop off, especially in reading situations, when i open the fifth.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

When after a hand is over you look at a screen and say "holyshit, this table is only playing 3 handed", that's when you know you are playing one too many tables. Or when a table pops up and you are still involved with a hand post flop and you aren't sure why. I think 2-4 is optimal for six max. A lot of fr players can play 100 at a time since they are seeing way fewer flops. I would hate to see how stressful it gets when you get like 5-6 good hands at a time.
