I've read a number of books on hold-em, most of them pertaining to limit.
I play NL almost exclusively, and I've read T.J.Cloutier/Tom McEvoy's book. It's entertaining, but not as useful as I thought it would be. Super System is ok but dated, I haven't read SS2 yet. What is your most helpful NL strategy reference?

1.) Sklanskys' Theory of Poker
2.) Sklanskys' Hold'em for Advanced players
I love Theory of Poker, it has helped my game tremendously. It's a difficult read, but if you (like i did) read it 3 times, you will understand it.

My favorite book is also harrington book. But the problem is that all theses books are for tournaments and not ring game.
I didn't find a book yet for ring game.

Harrington on holdem is great !!!
It is easy to read, and for each chapter, he give's a couple of situation and ask you what you would do and then tell what he would do and explain why.
I just start Theory of Poker so I don't know how good it is.
Harrington is very very good

the great part of harrington on holdem, he goes into the strategy that most players use in tournaments, so you can use it against these type of players.

i too would appreciate a good answer to the question. TOP is not about NL holdem and neither is HEFAP. harrington's book is not about ring games.

Super System -> Just a good book, you could read the different chapters mulitple times and get somethng out of it.
Winning at Texas Holdem by ken warren -> Crap, good tables in the back, but not much on top of the supersystem.
Poker Tells by Mike Caro -> Intereting read for live games, but over my head right now. I'm too busy calculating odds in my head, to be able to get too good of a read on them.
---------------
I just ordered harrington, hopefully that is good. I'm going to try to get rid of the warren, and caro books.

Harrington's book is the best all-around one I've read, easily. Get it.

Super/System is the best I'd say. I haven't read SS2, but the NL section in SS1, as long as you don't get hung up on doyle's overeagerness to gamble with straight draws, is THE book on winning, aggressive NL play. It carries over very well to 6max games in particular.
Harrington on HE is a very solid book as well, though I wish it was geared toward cash games rather than tourneys.

FTR Forums and experience. Both of these will make you a better play than any book will.

I would say that one should use all the methods possible. Play poker, read the forums, discuss about the game, post hand histories for discussion, watch poker videos (like dmang vids) and read books.
In addition to harringtons book; Pot-limit & no-limit poker by ciaffone and reuben, this one is most likely the best book for NLHE ring game.
