What in your opinions would be the most likely way to earn say 1k or 2k to either build your roll or to use, say, for a vacation fund starting with an initial deposit of $100 or so. Is it better to just grind ring games and stay within your BR, bonus whore or just play $1 and $2 tourneys and try to place high in a couple to make the mark. I've really hurt my BR jumping around to MTT's, S&G's and even playing at tables with only 6 or 7 buy-ins in my account (25NL) which by the way I will not do again, no matter how fishy we all know that they are. I'm not really in a rush or need to earn this money but it would be nice to be able to actually make a withdrawl this summer without it affecting my roll. I have no dillusions of earning thousands and moving up to 200NL anytime soon with my time at the tables but a few extra $$'s would be nice this summer.
Edit; All sarcastic answers are welcome as well (fnord, lukie and the rest of ya)

You really need 500$ before you can really start growing your bankroll.

with only $100 and if you can stomach crazy players
go to casinoDOTnet for there $100 bonus
play the $10NL tables
breaking even will double your roll
also checkout the easyt bonus guide and discussion

good luck

if you plan on grinding with $100, you should plan your vacation for the summer of 2007

find something, learn how to beat it, and then play within your bankroll.

Well, for starters, it really depends on how good you are at the game.
I have an IRL friend that watched me 8-table NL100 a few times a while back (sitting down next to me), and he now beats the NL25 game on stars for a pretty healthy rate. Of course some will laugh, but he used to be a huge donator and now he's cashing out a hundred or a couple hundred bucks a week, which is significant money for him.
As far as bonuses, I can't really help you there. I always wanted to improve my game and eventually be a winner in the BIG games (neither has changed), and I never really learned about chasing bonuses or anything like that. From my understanding, you can make some nice change doing that.
I don't really know where you are at in your game, but something like this might work out for ya..
desposit $150 or $200 into stars account (any site is fine, I'm just going to say stars though because I'm like that. and I play there exclusively. Some day I'm going to get paid to say that, by the way.) Play some NL10, try to FIGURE THE GAME OUT the best you can, start playing 2-3 tables maybe, post some hands, ALWAYS TRY TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WHY, and I'd say once you have $500 or so and you can quad-table NL25 and beat it, you're on your way to making some decent spending money.
So, in summary, my plan goes something like this:
get better at poker
do this by playing lots of hands, analyzing your own play, posting hands, and heeding advice from others (and by others, i obviously mean myself).

learn how to beat 10nl and eventually grind your way to 500$, then whore 25nl on Party and a couple of Prima skins and you will have at least 1k, then whore the rest of the prima skins, Pacific, and Paradise grinding 50nl until you reach 2k. Then play 100nl and make decent money.
EDIT: Read my pseudo-blog for details. I went from 500$ to 9500$ in 70 days, exclusively whoring and grinding at low stakes cash games.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but Renton, when did you move up to $200nl [in terms of BR], standard 20x buyin at $4,000? When do[did] you start changing the BR requirements for a certain level?

moved up to 200nl at 5k. I don't plan to move to 400nl until I get better. I am already more than rolled for it.

Thats almost identical to what I have "planned."
$2000 for $100NL, $5000 for $200NL and then really work on my game at $200NL, however long that takes.
