I am wondering if I should mix up FR and 6max play or just stay focused on just one. I have been playing 6-max fairly exclusively since I started playing NL, but back when I played limit I played mostly fullring. I've been thinking about playing both again now. (I'm playing 5nl 6max right now.)

I remember I switched to 6max to work on post flop play a lot and develop reads and watch the opponents closely, but I feel like I could tighten up and go back to fullring and do fairly well.

Basically, do you think it would be alright mixing them casually or should I focus on one at a time for now? It's only been a couple months, but I kinda miss fullring.

I'm going the other way... playing 6-max as a break from FR.

I don't see any harm at all in mixing it up. With FR NL just remember to tighten up and realize that in general show downs are better quality hands. A lot of nut campers... TPTK isn't as much of the nuts as it is at micro 6-max, and second pair almost never is....

Do you multitable? I generally play 50% more FR tables than 6max tables at one time. So if I'm playing 4 6max tables at a level, that generally means I can handle 6 FR tables. This gives about the same amount of decisions / minute.

Other than that, it's about whether you can adapt your game. But you seemed in your OP to know that and think it was possible. So...good luck. Let us know how it goes.

So far it's going well. I did play FR before and it seems about the same as I remember it (except much easier post-flop :P.) I really only liked to play a couple 6max tables at a time and yesterday I was playing 4 FR tables comfortably, so that was nice.

I like playing 6max a lot when I'm really concentrating on my game and my reads, but it's nice sitting back at FR and nutcamping a bit. A lot of times I was getting tempted to loosen up at 6max just because of all the great hands that didn't get any action.
