I play alot with a group of my buddies. This are two or three of them that raise the minimum alot preflop.

if the blinds are 1-2, they will raise to 4. They also play crappy hands alot but they tend not to respect my raises. I dont' quite understand it.

This is my idea. Next time I play with them I'm going to either fold or re-raise preflop when they do this. If they raise the minimum, I am going to decide if my hand is good enough to stay in, if it is I am going to re-raise 3-4x what they raised.

I am hoping this will make them think twice about playing crappy cards and hopefully even make them uncomfortable.

What do you guys think? The one thing I am thinking is that they may raise the minimum when they have like AK, wait for me to re-raise and then go all in. But I don't think they are clever enough for this and if they are, I am confident I will be able to catch it or that i will atleast have enough chips for such a loss.

What kind of hands are they playing off a minimum bet? Is that how they regularly raise their premium hands or just their mid-grades? Do they make obviously larger bets when they have the big un's?

Well, sounds like a good idea. Just make sure you don't get tricked into playing less than great hands.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
