Hi,

I've read through some of the posts and people here tell that one needs a bankroll of ~30x the Buy in, if it comes to tourneys.
I'm playing since a month and have improved in some kind of way(Position, Starting Hands, Reading the Table, Odds). Also have read Small Stakes Hold'em, HOH1, No limit hold'em secrets and I am reading Hold'em for advanced players. My problem is that I couldn't win any of the 27 Tourneys I've played(ended up just once ITM, at a Freeroll). Well it's not really a problem for me, but I'm playing the 1.10$ Tourneys at Stars now and even if I play "right", I'm losing my stack to someone who is chasing a Flush or a Straight. Last time my KK was cracked by 73off.

Much talk, but now my question and I hope somebody really can help me, because I love this game but I don't have the BR to play against players that take the game at least as serious as I am.

Good play, I mean if it comes to odds, has to pay off someday, but is this true for Micro Tourneys? And what can I do? I've read in a post that because of the implied odds hunting for trips pays off, but I can't really agree with that. My BR is now at 28x the Buy In, I can't really afford much more, so should I stay at these stakes and play? are these stakes at least average when it comes to gain experience?

Thank you in advance! Lukas

Firstly
MTT's are super high variance.

When you do get in the money it should be at the high end, always trying to place 1st or in another big payout spot. As a result of playing for 1st your ITM % age should be very low compared to other types of tournament such as STT''s and the smaller muli tables.

You really shouldn't expect to be placing for 10's of tournaments so don't get disappointed at going out in most of the tourneys you play if you're playing well.

Secondly, you may think you're playing well but post up some hand histories on the forum, particular those you went out on and seek some criticism from more experienced players.

Good luck

swiggidy will become famous soon enough
There is some old post about chances of winning a MTT. Since there are 45 people in yours, you need to "double up" ~5.5 times (2^5.5 = 45). Assume you have a 60-40 edge everytime, .6^5.5 = 6%, or every 20 tourney's.

When I was playing and I got 3x1st in 60 tournaments (insanely small sample). You have to get good cards early because everyone is spewing chips everywhere. If you can double up twice you're practically guaranteed final table where you can pwn everyone with aggression. Read the stickies in the SnG and MTT forums.

Welcome to FTR and good luck
