Hello... new here and relatively new to poker. I've been playing NLHE for about 4 or 5 months.
I've read Gordon's Little Green Book and Harrington's Vol 1 & 2... getting Vol 3 shortly.
When involved in a pot, how do you manage to control the size of the pot without showing weakness?
I make a medium-sized bet on the flop (1/2 - 2/3 pot) with TPGK. No straights on board, but there is a flush draw. I get a caller.
Turn doesn't help me. If I start increasing the size of the bets relative to the pot to prevent him from drawing to his flush (if that's what I've put him on) will destroy me if he's just rope-a-dopeing me with 2 pair. But that's getting off track and not really my main concern...
If, after the turn, I still have only my TPGK and make the same bet (trying to minimize losses to a better kicker), a better player could see that as weakness and come over the top.
My game is still relatively weak when it comes to playing weaker hands and that over-the-top bet there would throw me right off.
I hope that all makes sense. I'm pretty sure it's one of my (currently many) weaknesses that I'm trying to plug one by one.

Don't make the same sized bet on the turn. I'm assuming you mean, 3/4 bet on flop is $2, so you make another $2 bet on turn.
TPGK is not a big pot hand. If your flop bet gets called and you get pushed off the hand later, fine you lost a small pot. If you remember that player, use the same line with a stronger hand (e.g. set) and take his stack.
If there are obvious draws on the board, be more likely to bet the turn. If it's a spread rainbow board and you are WA/WB and checking the turn is preferable.
If you are OOP. Bet flop, check/fold turn (call small bets) is a pretty standard line for TPGK.
