I need help with my thought process.
The players I play with, basically, and being nice, know nothing about the game.

Like pot odds, outs, etc...

But last weekend I played in a tourny and the pot was pretty big to us, $150. And I played with a bunch of people that knew the game, did the math, took their time, all that.

And when the action came around to me, I didn't know what to think. I never had to really think playing with the usual people.

What questions shoud I ask myself when the actoin gets around to, to help me make the decison? I'm trying to make a list, and then memorize it.

I can only think of two when it's my turn.

What's their playing style?
Did they limp/raise?

Preflop, and on the flop, what are the most basic ones, or the ones that you ask yourself the most?

Harrington on Hold'em Vol. 1 has a really good section on what you should be considering when you play a hand. The new Sklansky, NLHE Theory and Practice covers this too.

Probably too broad a topic to get much love in the forum.

Agreed.

If you are looking for some basic solid guidelines I like Phil Gordon's thought process he outlines in the Little Green Book ( which a lot of people seem to think is mediocre but I love) is I think a 5-stepper that pretty much covers everything you should be worried about. It's right at the beginnig of the book too.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
