One of my friends who i got to play online poker is doing pretty well. He never really read anything and all he knows is from me. I point him to this site but he is too lazy to do the work. However he has been playing pot limit and he made almost 140 dollars so far. Which is hella a lot better than me. Sometimes he asks me sit by him while he plays(i am not playing) basically i am there to tell him to fold, fold fold. In general he does a lot better when i tell him what to do. Because of that i was thinking of switching to pot limit the next time i can aford to play online poker.
Sorry for grammar and spelling i just pulled an all nighter. Damn college!

Both!
He's lucky that you are nice enough to lend him your skills while he wins money.

Skill is a major factor, but luck also plays it role. Sometimes you hit those streaks where you have AK, AQ, QQ or KK, but killed by bad flops or chasers paying to catch those flushes or straights. IMO, one of the biggest virtues of this game is to have patience, and lots of it. That's not my strong suit either normally, but when it comes to money I change that.
