This may be the wrong forum, feel free to move.

When I play live ($1/$3), I usually dump A8 and below (and A9o in EP) unless

1) folded to me in LP. Then I raise.
2) sooted and with several in the pot

How much value am I losing in this game by not playing A7-A8? I see K rag and A rag (and sometimes Q rag) take down lots of pots on AKx boards.

I hardly ever play A-rag at any level under $100 online...I assume the same strategy should hold. Just figure I am missing some value by folding all these hands after hands after hands. When I finally play a hand they stay away from me a lot.....

your just cutting down on the variance -- these hands are trouble, unless you know you can control the pot size. B&M games (live games) -- SC's are much better than Axs or Axo -- Most live players do not bet enough to chase off draws. If you want to widen your Preflop game -- SC's and suited 1 gappers are a good way.

depends a lot on the max buyin. my casino only allows a 100 buyin in the 1-2 game, which is only 50BB. really means that a lot of marginal hands just arent worth it since there are usually 1 or 2 players that are calling with anything.

$300 max buyin, but all kinds of tools buy in with half stacks, $200 stacks.....

I do play SCs in LP. I have tried raising them in MP like I will sometimes online, but that burns me more often than not LOL....

How do you guys play AT and AJ at these kinds of tables?
At the ones I play at, if there are multiple limpers you have to be prepared for at least 80% of them to call a LP raise.

I raise AJ in all positions, but am more careful if I raise in EP and get callers behind. AT I dump early, raise late. I limp it sooted early.
