I regularly play 100 - 200 NL cash games at my B&M and the one type of hand that I have trouble winning with are low pocket pairs - specifically 55-88 (ok, so technically 88 is a middle pair). I seem to limp in or to call a small raise no matter my position. I almost never raise PF with these even when I'm the button and everyone's folded. If the flop looks bad and someone bets I almost always fold - even though many times it could be someone with just A or K high. I usually don't try to make a play here.

I'd like to mix up my game some more and try some plays with these hands. Should I? I guess it depends on my reads.

For arguments sake, lets say that I want to play these hands more aggressively pre-flop but only in late middle or late position or from the blinds if folded down to. What type of play(s) would you recommend? What type of bet? Just the standard 3xBB or higher? Lower? Continuation bet post flop? Stop and go? I know that this will be situational so I will adjust these recommendations based on the table.

It's quite possible that players other than the live seat or two have stopped paying off tight players who (open) limped into a unraised pot when they only have something like a pair.

edit: oh, this is live? Nevermind... Paging RiverMonkey....

Live poker is usually very shortstacked. Most games have a 30BB max buyin or something stupidly low so you might not be able to get enough value when you hit to make limping a good idea. If youre in a game where everyone folds to you then you can probably raise 77+ in late position.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?
