Default Looking for Active Poker Strategy Forum Moderators

    Hello everyone,

I am currently in the process of assigning new moderators to our various poker forums.

These positions are reserved for those who will be active participants in poker-related discussion and who generally have a high post count (although members with 100+ posts who convince us that they will be active in poker discussion will be considered).

Although these are volunteer positions, there are several benefits to moderating a poker strategy forum on FlopTurnRiver. These include:

    A. You are welcome to use your status as a forum moderator on a resume, as well as solicit references from FTR Owners/Admins.

    B. You will be an integral part of a well-established poker community.

    C. You will be welcome (even encouraged) to organize your corresponding forum(s) to make it more presentable and useful to the community at large. Your will also be welcome to experiment with new ideas on how to improve the poker strategy forums.

    D. If you would be interested in communicating routinely with big names in the live/online poker scene, I could show you how to set up to record "podcasts" and routinely post interviews on the site (this would be a part-time, hourly position that I'm working on currently).

If you or someone you know would be a good candidate for a poker-strategy forum(s) moderator, please reply in this thread or send me a Private Message.

We currently have solid moderators in our Commune/Non-Poker Forums, although I may also add a couple on the condition that those moderators will also be highly active in their respective poker-based forums.

    -David

This is an exciting change. I'd like to publicly thank all our past and present moderators for their help over the years.

Same on my end. Although I've only been around here at FTR for a few months, those who earned Moderator status in the past and were active while they could be played an important role in making the forums what they are today.

For what it's worth, I'd be more than happy to keep the currently non-active Mods on board if they still have the time to contribute, but 100% understand in cases in which that isn't possible.

I don't really have the time to do it or I would be all for it

I do suggest either re-combining SSNL and the Beginner's Circle or at least getting SSNL on the drop-down menu at the top of the page

If it was up to me, I would re-combine the two forums and rename it something like Micro/Small Stakes NLHE because I think the "beginner's" title for the Beginner's Circle might turn some people off since it seems judgy

Sorry for the double post: Also I would suggest having someone in a beginner's forum capacity trying to get in contact with new signups (you can list new signups based on when they signed up) and form relationships with new players to get them posting, playing, involved, etc

This part could become automated or semi-automated

Edit: Okay fuck it, I'll volunteer to moderate a combined BC/SSNL forum if I can keep on at least m2m (and dozer if he wants it) as co-moderators, Stacks is nowhere to be found (probably too busy boning his mom's friends, true story)

Sounds great, Jesse! I'll get you set up this week and am very much looking forward to your ideas for those forums.

I think a really good thing to do would be to have a massive lean up of dead old threads whilst taking interesting articles and lessons etc and organizing them in a better manner.

There is so much great stuff on here just it's a proper pain in the arse to find. Not to mention that lots of the articles are hidden away which have great information, although considering some of them are by todays standards bad and even wrong in some cases maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Before the split off for the SSNL subforum which stole all of the BC's stickies pretty much, there were some good threads that presented organized information in a decent manner. I hope to get back something like that before too long after I take back the throne

SSNL stole all the stickies because Eric wanted the BC to look like other forums and be clean and have no stickies. We split them so that the beginner questions and introductions were separated from the small stakes forum where people playing low stakes may not all be beginners.

Ya I know, it wasn't blame on you. Also SSNL not being on the pull-down menu at the top is a major pain in the ass

I'd be interested in modding live poker.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

But I'd rather rouse Fnord to come out of retirement.

To be honest I was hoping you'd chime in, as I've thought you'd be a good choice for Moderator once you subbed-in for Eric in last month's WW game.

You now have Mod privileges in the Other/Live Poker forum and should also have access to the Moderator Forum.

    Welcome to the team!
