He wanted to take the pot down right there without a raise. He got raised.

Because most of the time his hand is beat here. I think it's a good fold.

It would help to know what else came out on the flop. Was it another pair or something? That would have scared me out on the first hand at the table too.

Agree with above, you can't raise with KQ and then fold when you make top pair (I'm assuming no A on flop) unless the board is suited or something.
This would be a prime example of why not to play KQ, it can't stand pressure even when you make a hand.

Depending on things like position, board, and stack sizes, I'm often willing to push in a situation like you describe. KJ will frequently make the play he made here.
That said, I may be slightly push happy because I play small stack (which rewards aggressive play).

well, I was coming off a string off ridiculous bad beats... and I thought the play was folding. Most of you have good arguments.. There's no real clear answer except to maybe re-raise him again. I personally think there was just so many ways to be beaten there was no reason to do this. Not that many people go hog-wild with raises, especiall when the bet is the pot. This guy didn't seem too aggressive after this hand either.
edit::// and I dont think this hand shows why you shouldn't play KQ. KQ is a good hand and I will continue to play it. Even good hands get cracked man..

I fold. KA will own you and take a large portion of your stack if you keep calling. Remember, you're not just calling this $4, you're committing yourself to call on future streets if you call this reraise. I'm willing to bet you're behind here.
But the players up at $200 NL don't tend to play KJ and stuff like that all that often, so my opinion might be a bit tainted.

I overlooked that you raised preflop. That changes things a bit...this could well have been a good fold.
Typically, I limp KQo, as most hands that dominate it will raise.
