Sometimes in $25 PL I feel the implied odds are so good that it's worth knowingly calling with an underpair.

The reason this occurs is that the pre-flop raises in PL are limited by the size of the pot.

Hypothetical Example:
A player with over 800 hands in PE, with just under 2% PFR and high WTSD% and PFA bets the pot in early position. I am on the cutoff or later with 77. Here I am confident that I am behind, and that our tight aggressive villain has AA or KK. But...

If the flop comes with a 7 and no A or K, I reckon (unless I'm sufficiently unlucky that the 2-outer shows up on the turn or river or some other freaky board occurrence takes place) to gain a stack. If my 7 doesn't arrive I get out as soon as there is any action from PFR villain (I might even get a free turn, but not usually).

Comments?

I think this is a pretty standard play, I make it all the time. Even in NL, against certain players, I know if I hit my set I can take their stack. If I dont, it isnt too expensive.
