Awful session last night. Not so much in terms of net loss because it was only -4.5/100ptbb. I just seemed to pick bad spots, was passive when I should have been aggressive and vice versa. I suppose one good thing is that I didn't make any real costly mistakes and stack off completely.

Anyway, here's the two hands with KK from last night against the same opponent. Please feel free to kick me in the ass...

Villain is 35/12/1 over 66 hands.

I put him on Aces here.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO ($10)
Button ($7.35)
SB ($5.75)
Hero (BB) ($10.30)
UTG ($5)
UTG+1 ($4.60)
MP1 ($13)
MP2 ($1.95)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K, K
4 folds, CO raises to $0.40, Button raises to $1.10, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, 1 fold

Flop: ($2.65) 8, A, 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.30

Turn: ($5.25) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $4.95 (All-In), Hero folds

Total pot: $5.25 | Rake: $0.25

It's shove/fold in this spot IMO and I just couldn't figure it for a bluff or a set. HELP

Hand 2 I couldn't make decision and the time ran out. Is it a more profitable play over time to shove over here? I don't have lot of hands on him but it was the first flop c/r he had in his stats.

H1. Hero shoves preflop

H2. Ugh. I really don't know. I think there's only 3 hands in his range that you're way ahead of, and 3 that you're way behind, but there are way more combos of the hands your ahead of than the ones your behind.

AJ, 34, QQ, vrs 22, 55, AA. And the idea that he would limp/flat AA is pretty laughable. That having been said, I'm a donk in this situation and I get it all in.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Is it just me or in H2 does it look like the villain has 22 or 55? Limp in UTG with a pp then call PF raise. Then when the flop hits a set on a rainbow board, c/r. THIS IS SO COMMON AT MICRO STAKES!

I'm giving your villain credit as a decent player that wouldn't limp AJ KJ or QJ in UTG then call a PF raise but if you think he is capable of doing that then maybe I would get it all in. Plus he didn't donk lead whatever he hit on the flop.

But given what I see I would probably fold H2 also

Hand 1, I can't see BTN having AA, AK is more likely. Even then it is a stretch as he should be potting that flop to take away any drawing odds. The way I see it before anyone acts is that you have 9 outs to the best hand against AA , 10 outs against AK and 11 outs against everything else you are not ahead of right now. Against a range of QQ+, AK (which is pretty tight, but he did 3-bet pre) you are 58% to win on the flop, and still 51% on the turn. Getting roughly 2 to 1 on the turn I think I call the turn all-in.

Hand 2, This is an easy shove over. If UTG has a set, so be it, odds are UTG has a mid PP and thinks you have AK, AQ. UTG limp plus flat can also be AJ here, which you are crushing.

You can't be giving UTG credit as too good a player here, as a set on that flop should never check raise. Nothing on that flop hit hero's preflop betting range, except maybe the J. Hero is expected to c-bet here, why do we want to move him off AK, TT+ or even AJ. We want to get paid with our set, so we wait. If hero bets big on the turn, then we CRAI cause we think hero as an over pair and will pay us off. So if UTG has a set, it is badly played.
