Wow. I just got knocked out of a single table SNG literally not being able to raise a single hand except the one that finally knocked me out (and I was down to 5xBB anyway). It was Level 8 and I still got 5th.

I've never been cold decked like that. I got pocket 2's once but was out of position and facing a raise. I got KQo once but same story. Otherwise not ONE STARTING HAND through 8 rounds and 48 minutes of play. And it's not like I'm playing super tight but when everything you see is K6 and Q4 it's really frustrating. Never happened before and hopefully it never happens again.

There is really nothing you can do to balance this, is there? Every time I even thought of stealing I was raised previously as well. Just wow.

Nothing much you can do at all really, it happens - just as it sometimes happens that you get a really hot run of premium hands. Patience is a really important virtue in poker, but if the cards don't come there isn't much you can really do except wait for an +EV spot (which may come down to open shoving any two cards).

you can raise any hand, did you ever try and steal blinds in position, or isolate limpers with position, or?
happens though, and not a whole lot you can do about it... post the whole sng in the sng forum - people will likely point out spots where you could have raised.

It happens, stay patient and make +EV pushes when you get to that point.
Just playing to improve.

But wait. Is that considered ABC poker? I was under the impression that ABC poker involved only playing your good hands, and trying to devine what your opponents have while being more worried about the cards on the board and what your hand is, and outs etc.

Blind stealing is an adjustment.

Here at FTR we preach to our beginners (I know because I'm a beginner gettin' preached at) Don't adjust your game, just play ABC poker and the rest will come.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Stealing in position is fine, normally wouldnt advocate isolating limpers with poor hands though. Good way for new players to get into trouble.
Just playing to improve.

Stealing in position is ABC poker, particularly in tourneys.

Probably best to post the hands/tourney in the SNG forum and we'll take a look to see whether you missed any spots.
